This delicious baby stuffing recipe is suitable for babies from 6 months onwards and tastes so good even mums and dads may start pinching some. You can enjoy it along with some of our other recipes in our baby’s first Christmas dinner series like our Turkey meatballs with a beetroot and apple jam, or it can be made on its own. So simple and yummy.

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, grated or finely chopped
  • 1 stick celery, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, peeled and grated
  • 1 Teaspoon parsley leaves, chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon thyme leaves, chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon raisins, finely chopped
  • 30mls no salt chicken stock – see our own stock recipe
  • 2 Tablespoons of oat flour (or finely ground oats)
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil

 

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Grease a baking dish with olive oil or oil spray.
  3. Chop the celery. Peel and grate the onion and carrot.
  4. Heat 1 Tablespoon olive oil in a frying pan and saute the onion, carrot and celery for a few minutes until soft and golden.
  5. When they are cooked and slightly browned, remove and place in a bowl.
  6. Mix in the chopped parsley and thyme, the chopped raisins and the chicken stock.
  7. Add 2 tablespoons of oat flour (or finely ground oats) and mix together.
  8. Start forming the mixture into patties. Spoon off the mixture into a baking dish and pat it down to form it into circles. Or do what we did and place a biscuit cutter in the baking dish. Fill it with stuffing, and compact it with a spoon. Then remove the biscuit cutter to leave a nice round stuffing patty.
  9. Continue until all the mixture is in the baking tray.
  10. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
  11. Remove, cool and let baby enjoy!

Heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Grease a baking dish with olive oil or oil spray.

Chop the celery. Peel and grate the onion and carrot.

Heat 1 Tablespoon olive oil in a frying pan and saute the onion, carrot and celery for a few minutes until soft and golden.

When they are cooked and slightly browned, remove and place in a bowl.

Mix in the chopped parsley and thyme, the chopped raisins and the chicken stock.

Add 2 tablespoons of oat flour (or finely ground oats) and mix together until evenly distributed.

Next make the stuffing patties.

You can spoon off the mixture onto a baking dish and pack it down with a spoon, or you can do what we have done and place a biscuit cutter in the baking dish.

Fill the biscuit butter with stuffing, and compact it with a spoon. then remove the biscuit cutter to leave a nice round stuffing patty.

Continue until all the mixture is laid out in the baking tray.
