Homemade Pizza Base
Pour the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl. Make a hole in the top of the mound.
Mix the yeast in the warm water until dissolved and pour it gently into the middle of the flour.
Add in the maple syrup and vegetable oil.
Gradually mix everything together until you have a smooth dough and then knead it for a few minutes.
When it’s ready, roll it into a ball in the bowl. Cover the bowl with a warm damp cloth and leave it to rise for anywhere between 20 minutes to an hour.
Rainbow Pizza
When you’re ready to cook, preheat the oven to 180°C or 350°F fan setting.
Flour a clean surface and roll out your pizza dough into a large circle.
Using a sharp knife, cut out an arch from the circle and place it on a greased baking tray.
Spoon on a thick layer of tomato passata on top of the base and cover with the grated mozzarella cheese.
Carefully add on your vegetables in colour layers, starting from the innermost ‘band’ and working your way out. Leave enough space to have some nice thick layers of colour.
When you’ve covered the pizza in your chosen vegetable colours, cook on the middle shelf of the oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden. Enjoy while warm!
