The slime craze has taken off and shows no sign of slowing down! If your child is crazy about slime then they’ll LOVE this recipe. We added little styrofoam balls to a stretchy slime mix to make fluffy slime – also known as floam. Let us know if you try this slime floam at home!

You will need:

You will need:

  • 28 grams PVA glue (6oz)
  • ½ teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • 1½ teaspoons of contact lens solution (it must contain boric acid and sodium borate for your slime to work)
  • Styrofoam beads
  • Food colouring – we used red
  • A bowl and mixing spoon

Step 1: Pour your ingredients into a bowl

Step 1: Pour your ingredients into a bowl

Pour your glue, bicarbonate of soda and contact lens solution into a bowl.

Add the lens solution bit by bit.

Mix well.

Step 2: Colour your slime

Add a few drops of food colouring into your mixture.

Stir it in well to evenly distribute your colour.

Step 3: Add the foam balls

Step 3: Add the foam balls

Add a good handful of styrofoam balls into your slime mix. You can buy these cheaply online at places like Amazon or eBay.

Start kneading your slime with your hands.

It can be quite sticky at first. Knead it for about 5-10 minutes.

If it is still too sticky then add a little more contact lens solution.

Step 4: Enjoy playing with your slime

Step 4: Enjoy playing with your slime

And it’s ready! Have fun squishing, stretching and squeezing your floam.

You can keep it in a tuppaware and it should last a few weeks so you can play with it again and again.

Kids will love playing with this slime floam!

Safety precautions:

If your child has sensitive skin then make sure they wear gloves when handling slime. Make sure your child never puts any slime in their mouth.
