The great thing about these cards is that your child can let their creativity flow and design any background they like.
We painted colourful stripes for ours but your child might like to stamp cloud shapes all over by printing with cotton buds or paint lots of dots.
Summary:
Time: 10 minutes
Age: Toddlers to Little kids
Difficulty: Easy peasy
You will need:
- Card
- Paints (red and a selection of other colours of your choosing)
- Paintbrush
- Toilet roll
Step 1: Paint your background
Fold a piece of card and then paint your background. We chose to paint lots of wide stripes in different colours.
You might want to blob different colours by printing with cotton wool to make a colourful cloud effect.
Or you could just paint one colour for your background.
Step 2: Make your DIY heart print stamps
Take an old toilet roll.
Pinch it in half to make a pointed end and then pinch two sides in to make it into a heart shape.
Step 3: Dip your heart printer in paint
Dip your toilet roll heart printer in red paint. Make sure you’re got an even coverage.
You can test how well it will print by making a print on scrap paper first.
Step 4: Start printing
Press your heart printer down on your background to print lots of hearts all over your card.
Step 5: Print to your heart’s content
Keep dipping your toilet roll heart printer into red paint and print on as many hearts as you like until you are happy with your design.
