You will need:
- Glass jars
- Glitter
- PVA glue
- Paintbrushes
- Ribbon
- Battery operated tea light candles
Step 1: Cover your jar with glue
Using a paint brush cover the outside of your jar with PVA glue.
Make sure you cover the whole surface, right up to the top.
Step 2: Sprinkle on the glitter
Sprinkle glitter onto your jar.
You can do it in sections, working your way round the jar.
Pour or sprinkle on a whole heap of glitter so that it sticks to every tiny bit of the jar.
We used biodegradable glitter.
Step 3: Tap the jar to get rid of the excess
Once your whole jar is covered with lots of glitter gently tap the jars so that any excess glitter falls off.
If you do this over a piece of card then you can fold the card and easily pour back any glitter you didn’t use into the tube.
Step 4: Decorate with ribbon
To finish tie some pretty ribbon round the top of your jar.
We chose a nice glittery trim to match the sparkle of the glitter but any ribbon looks pretty.
Pop a battery operated tea- light candle in your jars and watch them glow.
They look beautiful in a line on the mantelpiece, especially when the room is lit only by these and the lights from the Christmas tree.
These beautiful Christmas decorations would make lovely handmade gifts for your child to make and give out at Christmas
