Balloon Squish-monsters
What you need:
Balloons
Flour
Funnel
Empty water bottle
Wool
Black Sharpie or permanent marker
Step 1: Fill up the bottle with flour
Use a funnel to fill a small water bottle about two thirds full of regular flour.
You can also use cornflour, which gives a slightly different texture.
Step 2: Blow up your balloon and attach it to the bottle
This is the trickiest part and it is much easier to do with two people helping.
First blow up your balloon and pinch the neck to hold it firmly and make sure none of the air comes out.
Then, still pinching the balloon, carefully place the neck of the balloon around the rim of the water bottle.
It’s a bit fiddly to do. Take a little time to make sure it is firmly in place.
Step 3: Fill your balloon
Tip up the bottle upside down and pour all the flour into your inflated balloon.
Step 4: Add some funky hair
Once your balloon is full then carefully take it off the bottle and gently let the air out. Tie the neck in a knot.
Take a few strands of wool and tie them round the knot to make some funky hair for your little squish-monster.
Step 5: Draw on monster faces
Using a black Sharpie or permanent marker draw some eyes and a mouth onto your balloon to give it a funny face.
Have fun trying different expressions and faces.
Step 6: Get squeezing
Now have lots of fun squishing and squeezing your homemade squish-monster.
