Gluten Free American Pancakes

Naturally gluten free American pancakes that are perfect for Sunday mornings. These are the best homemade pancakes made from scratch with only a few ingredients, that make fluffy, soft American pancakes.

  • cups gluten free oat flour* (135 grams)
  • tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp cane or caster sugar
  • 100 grams natural yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 140 ml whole milk (just over ½ cup)


  • In a large mixing bowl combine the wet ingredients and whisk: milk, yogurt and egg.
  • In another bowl combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar and baking powder. Stir together.
  • Tip the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Take a large fry pan and set on a medium heat. Cover the surface with oil spray, or add a knob of butter.
  • Spoon out the mixture onto the pan, 2 large spoonfuls at a time. Cook for a few minutes on each side until golden.
  • Remove from the pan when cooked on both sides. Add the toppings of your choice, butter, berries, maple syrup or honey and enjoy!


*Oat flour is naturally gluten-free as oats themselves are gluten-free, but there can be cross contamination when the flour is blended. So it's best to use oat flour which is certified 'gluten-free' if you have gluten sensitivities or follow a gluten-free diet.
