Ingredients

  • 220 grams milk chocolate (8 ounces)
  • 120 grams dark chocolate, 70% (4 ounces)
  • Sprinkle selection we’ve used colourful sprinkles, stars and silver balls
  • Popping candy or crackling sprinkles optional, this is edible candy that crackles in your mouth
  • ½ tsp salt crystals

Instructions

  • Break the chocolate into rough squares and place them in a heatproof glass bowl.
  • Melt the chocolate either in the microwave or by placing the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stirring. Stop just before the chocolate has completely melted.
  • Line a 10 x 10 inch ( 25 x 25cm) oven dish or tray with greaseproof parchment paper.
  • Pour the melted chocolate into the oven dish and smooth it out with a spatula or knife until it’s an even, thin layer.
  • Sprinkle on your chosen sprinkles. Kids will love to help with this bit. We used popping candy toppers, silver balls and colourful stars.
  • Scatter on your salt crystals evenly.
  • Leave your chocolate bark out to set, which will take a few hours, or pop it in the fridge for an hour until solid.
  • When it’s ready, lift it off the greaseproof paper and break it apart into rough pieces with your hands. And that’s it! It’s ready to serve. Enjoy your crackling treat.
