Ingredients

  • 400 grams canned chick peas
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ cup jumbo rolled oats
  • ½ cup wholewheat flour
  • 6 tbsp olive oil (100mls)
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C fan setting.
  • Rinse the canned chick peas well.
  • Place them in a blender along with the garlic cloves. Blend until crumbly.
  • Add in the rolled oats and wholewheat flour and blend.
  • Add in the poppy seeds, oil and salt and blend for a further minute.
  • Take out two sheets of parchment paper. Lay one out on a flat counter top and spoon the dough out on top of it. Cover with the second sheet of parchment paper and with a rolling pin roll the dough out until roughly ½ cm thick.
  • Cut the dough into squares and lift the squares onto a non stick or greased baking tray. Prick with a fork.
  • Cook for 20 minutes or until golden. Remove and enjoy!

Notes

Use rolled oats as opposed to quick or instant oats to get the best results.
