Does anyone have any non-toy ideas for Christmas gifts for kids? I just don't think I can handle any more toys in this house!

I let my kids choose a charity to donate too. A lot of them send out gift packs for donating. Animal charities are popular with my kids. The Adopt A Donkey charity sends out a really cute gift pack with pictures of the donkey you adopted and an adoption certificate. "Adopt A Polar Bear" sends out a polar bear soft toy in addition to pictures of your polar bear and fact cards on endangered species. Kids seem to love the adoption concept!

Also, if you can bear it, buy a musical instrument😂. We started violin on the cutest little violin and both my kids still take lessons and love it (squeak squeak 😆)

Challenge thirty one: The final push. We haven't tackled every single cupboard and every single bit of clutter over this 31 day challenge but, if you’ve followed the challenges, you should be on your way to getting the house in order. For the final challenge grab a box and go through every room in the house. Pick up any items that are lying around in the wrong place. Tidy little things you notice. Toys on the floor, items on tables and window sills, things stuffed in corners. If, during this challenge you have a whole pile of stuff waiting to be taken to charity/the dump now’s the time to drop them off and clear out the clutter once and for all. We hope that by now you’ll have got the bug to declutter and clean day by day for a few minutes at a time. Small tasks that make a big difference. We’d love to see your photos of any clean and tidy areas you achieved.

It's been great. I haven't done every task but am slowly clearing the clutter and am motivated to keep on doing so bit by bit, when I've got the time.

Challenge thirty: Clearing the tables and windowsills. Has clutter crept onto every available surface? Grab a box and clear any items that have made their way onto tables, window sills and mantelpieces. Then put them all back in their proper homes. Give the surfaces a quick polish too. With clear surfaces your home will instantly feel tidier.

Challenge twenty nine: Sort out the pots and pans. And all the baking tins and bits and pieces lurking in pan cupboards. As usual take everything out and get rid of things you don’t use or things that have seen better days. Give the shelves a good clean and put everything back tidily.

Our shelves and drawers are in drastic need of a clean! I'm going to give this a go tonight to try to clear out.

I found rusty baking trays, pans with wobbly handles and an old toastie maker that I haven't used for years. I tidied it up but am now wondering if there's a handy storage solution for pan lids. Anyone have any ideas?

Done! Is it normal to have toy cars and old snack bars at the bottom of your handbag?

I need this one. I frequently buy all kinds of jars and other clever storage solutions, but I neglect to put the things in there when I buy them😬

Challenge twenty six: Tackle the bookshelves. We'll start with the kids books. Take every single book off the shelf or floor and put them in a big pile. Then sort through and give any they no longer read or want to charity. Put the books you're keeping neatly back on the bookshelves.

So many shoes! With this kids' shoes does anyone else find it hard to keep track of whose feet are changing to which size?

As their feet grow so quickly I try to buy ahead by getting 1 size bigger but then we always end up with piles and piles of shoes which are 1 size up or down for each child. I eventually get fed up and finally do a big sort out every few months. Maybe it's just me but we always have piles of shoes lying around...

Challenge twenty four: Clean out one 'drawer of doom'. You know the one we mean. That one where you shove things you find lying around and things that need to be put away. Clear it out, throw away anything useless or unwanted and make it nice and tidy
